Homework
week 1 - June 19
So, you've completed the first week of class! Now, it's time to put in the work. Before next class:
*Practice Rhythm Exercise #1 - Triple Steps to "Easy Does It" by Count Basie (preferably on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday).
*Practice the "Full Break" from the Shim Sham 5x in a row on Wednesday, Saturday, and Monday.
*Practice the Lindy Hop rhythmic pattern (double-triple-double-triple) while dancing around to "How Lucky Can One Guy Be" by Indigo Swing.
*Listen to our routine song, "Shiny Stockings" by Count Basie. On a sheet of paper (lined or not), mark down every 8 counts with a tally. Every time you hear a change in the phrase (as we discussed in class), make the tally mark a little longer.
